SSC signature resizer (6.0 × 2.0 cm, 10–20 KB)

SSC notices ask for the signature as a JPG of 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high, scanned at 200 DPI. This page makes exactly that, 472 × 157 pixels with 200 DPI written into the file.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Filled in: 6 × 2 cm at 200 DPI, 10–20 KB JPG · check your notice and edit if it differs

What “6.0 cm × 2.0 cm at 200 DPI” means in pixels

DPI is dots per inch. At 200 DPI, one centimetre is about 79 pixels, so a 6.0 × 2.0 cm signature is 472 × 157 pixels. Tools that only shrink the file to 20 KB leave the image at whatever size and resolution your phone used, typically 72 or 96 DPI, which can show up as the wrong size when it is checked.

Signature tips for SSC

  • Black ink, plain white paper. Ruled paper shows lines in the result.
  • Sign larger than usual, then crop tightly. A small signature in a big photo turns into a few blurry pixels.
  • Keep the file. The same signature is used for every SSC exam through your one-time registration.

The page fits the full signature inside the frame on white, so the ends are never cut, and cleans grey indoor paper to white. For the photo, see the SSC photo size page.

Frequently asked questions

Is it 6.0 × 2.0 cm or 4.0 × 2.0 cm?

Recent CGL and CHSL notices give about 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm in the main text and 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm in an annexure. Both use 200 DPI and 10–20 KB. If your notice says 4.0 cm, change the width to 4 and press the button again.

Why does the DPI matter if the portal checks KB?

A size in centimetres only means something together with a resolution. 6 cm at 200 DPI is 472 pixels; at 72 DPI it would be just 170. The tool sets the pixels from your numbers and writes 200 DPI into the JPG, so the file measures 6.0 × 2.0 cm when opened in any viewer.

Does SSC need a photo upload?

CGL, CHSL and other exams on the current SSC portal take your photo live through the webcam or mySSC app. If your SSC application does ask for a photo file, use the SSC photo page.
