Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
Draft for review. This policy describes how NapTools works today. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before launch, especially the advertising and consent sections, which must match the ad setup that is actually live.
NapTools is operated by Napnix LLP (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use naptools.
Your files stay on your device
Every tool marked “Files stay on your device” processes files inside your browser. Your PDFs, images and text are never sent to our servers, and we cannot see them. When you close the tab, the file data is gone from memory.
If a tool ever needs server processing (for example, very large files or Word-to-PDF conversion), the tool will say so clearly before you upload anything. Files sent for server processing are deleted automatically within one hour.
What is stored on your device
To make NapTools faster to use, your browser keeps a small amount of information locally (in IndexedDB and localStorage):
- tools you used recently and tools you saved as favourites
- presets you choose to save
- your theme preference (light or dark)
This information never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data for NapTools in your browser settings.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage statistics: which pages are visited and which tools are used, without cookies and without identifying you, so we know which tools to improve.
- Error reports: if a tool crashes, technical details about the error (browser, tool, error message), never the contents of your files.
Advertising
NapTools is free because it shows ads. Once ads are enabled, our advertising partner (Google AdSense) may use cookies to show and measure ads. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. You can manage ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings.
Your rights (India DPDP Act, 2023)
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, and withdraw consent at any time. Because NapTools does not ask you to create an account and does not upload your files, we hold very little personal data. If you contact us by email, we keep that email only as long as needed to reply.
Grievance Officer: contact us at hello@naptools.in. We will respond within the timelines set by the DPDP Act. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
