Split a PDF into separate files

Pull out the pages you need, cut a large PDF into chapters, or save every page as its own file. Choose how to split and download the results as one ZIP.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use: Split PDF

  1. 1Choose the PDF you want to split.
  2. 2Pick how to split it - by page ranges, every N pages, or every page.
  3. 3For page ranges, type them separated by commas, for example 1-3, 4-6, 7-.
  4. 4Press "Split PDF" and download the files individually or as a ZIP.

Three ways to split

  • Page ranges: each comma-separated range becomes its own PDF. 1-3, 4-6 gives two files.
  • Every N pages: cut a long document into equal chunks, for example every 10 pages.
  • Every page: one PDF per page, handy when each page is a separate invoice or certificate.

Common uses

Students split a combined marksheet PDF to upload each semester separately. Offices split a scanned batch of invoices into one file per invoice. Job portals often want your degree certificate and ID as separate uploads, even when you scanned them together.

Privacy

Many people split PDFs that contain personal details: Aadhaar, PAN, salary slips, bank statements. NapTools does the work inside your browser, so these documents are never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract just a few pages?

Choose "Page ranges" and type only the pages you want, for example 2-4. You'll get a single PDF containing just those pages.

What does "7-" mean?

A range with no end runs to the last page. "7-" means page 7 to the end of the document.

Can I put pages in a different order?

Yes. Ranges are copied in the order you write them, so "5, 1-4" puts page 5 first.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied exactly as they are, without re-rendering or recompressing.

How are the files named?

Each file is named after the original with its pages, for example report-pages-1-3.pdf, so you can tell them apart.
