JEE Main photo resizer (10–200 KB)

The JEE Main form checks that your photograph is a JPG between 10 and 200 KB. This page crops a recent photo to a passport shape of 413 × 531 pixels and keeps it inside that range at high quality.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Filled in: 35 × 45 mm at 300 DPI, 10–200 KB JPG · check your notice and edit if it differs

How to use: JEE Main photo size (10–200 KB)

  1. 1Pick a recent colour photo with a white background and your face in the middle.
  2. 2Add it here. The size starts at 413 × 531 pixels and 10–200 KB.
  3. 3Press "Make it fit"; the photo is cropped evenly from the centre.
  4. 4Check the preview, then download the JPG.
  5. 5Upload it in the photograph step of the JEE Main application.

Getting the photo right the first time

Stand about a metre in front of a white wall, face a window for soft light, and have someone take the picture at eye level. Ears visible, eyes open, no cap. That is all NTA checks visually, and it avoids the most common rejection, a dark or shadowed face.

Keep the original

NTA allows corrections only in a short window after the form closes. Save the original photo and the resized JPG together so you can redo it quickly if a correction is needed. The JEE Main signature page prepares the other image.

Frequently asked questions

Some sites say 10–300 KB for JEE Main. Which is right?

The range has differed between years and sources. A file between 10 and 200 KB satisfies both, which is why this page uses it. If your bulletin says otherwise, change the numbers before you start.

Can I reuse my class 12 board photo?

Only if it is recent and meets the rules. NTA asks for a recent photo, and it has to match how you look at the exam centre.

Do I need the same photo for JEE Advanced?

Keep the original file. Using the same photo across JEE Main, JEE Advanced and counselling keeps your identity checks simple.
