How to use: IBPS photo size (200 × 230, 20–50 KB)
- 1Take a fresh photo facing the camera against a white or light wall, with even light on your face.
- 2Add it here. The size is filled in as 200 × 230 pixels and 20–50 KB.
- 3Press "Make it fit". The photo is cropped from the centre, so leave some space around your head.
- 4Download the JPG and upload it in the "Photograph" box of the IBPS form.
What IBPS checks in your photo
- Colour, recent and passport style. Use a picture taken in the last few weeks, not a crop of an old group photo.
- Light background. White or very light grey works best. A cluttered room behind you can get the photo rejected during verification.
- Face clearly visible, looking straight at the camera with both ears showing where possible.
- JPG only. PNG, HEIC from an iPhone or a PDF will not upload. This tool always saves a JPG, whatever you add.
The same face across the whole process
IBPS compares your uploaded photo with the live photo, the photo on your call letter and the person at the exam centre. Use a photo that looks like you do today: a very old photo or a heavily edited one is a common reason for trouble at document verification.
Other IBPS uploads
The form also asks for your signature, your left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration, each with its own size. Keep the original files too; you may need them again for the mains or the interview.
Frequently asked questions
What is the IBPS photo size in cm?
The notice describes a 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm passport photo, but for the upload it asks for 200 × 230 pixels, scanned at 200 DPI. The pixels are what the upload box checks, so this page uses them and saves the file at 200 DPI. Image properties then show about 2.5 × 2.9 cm; that is expected.
Can I wear spectacles or a cap?
Spectacles are fine if there is no glare and your eyes are clearly visible. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not allowed. Religious headwear is accepted as long as it does not cover the face.
IBPS also takes a live photo. Do I still need this?
Yes. The form asks you to upload a scanned photo and also captures a live photo through your webcam or phone. The uploaded photo is the one this tool prepares.
Does SBI use the same size?
SBI PO and Clerk notices have used the same 200 × 230 pixel, 20–50 KB rule. Check the current notice and change the numbers above if they differ.
