Compress a PDF to 200 KB

200 KB is enough for a clear two- or three-page scanned document. NapTools recompresses only the images inside your PDF and stops as soon as it is under 200 KB.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use: Compress PDF to 200 KB

  1. 1Choose the PDF you need to upload.
  2. 2Press "Compress PDF". The 200 KB target is already set.
  3. 3Read the result - the new size is shown, along with how many images were recompressed.
  4. 4Download the PDF and check it opens correctly before uploading.

A common size for multi-page documents

Many portals allow around 200 KB for documents with a few pages: an experience letter with an attachment, a two-page marksheet, a rent agreement summary, or a bank statement page. It’s a size where scans stay comfortably readable.

Before you compress

  1. Rotate and remove pages that don’t belong, using Rotate PDF and Remove PDF pages. Sideways pages often get rejected, and extra pages eat into the budget.
  2. Merge only what’s required. If the portal asks for separate uploads, split the PDF instead of compressing one big file.

Checking the result

Open the downloaded PDF and zoom to 100%. Small print such as dates, registration numbers and stamps should be clear. If not, compress the original at a gentler level with the main Compress PDF tool and see whether a slightly higher limit is allowed.

Frequently asked questions

How many scanned pages fit in 200 KB?

Usually two to four pages of a normal A4 document scan. Pages full of photos or colour graphics need more space.

My PDF was made in Word and is already small. Will it shrink?

Text-only PDFs are already compact, so there may be little to remove. If compression can't make it smaller, you get your original file back, never a bigger one.

Does compression remove pages or links?

No. All pages, links and text remain. Only the embedded images are re-encoded.
