Convert WebP to PNG

Logos, icons and stickers saved from websites often arrive as WebP with a transparent background. Convert them to PNG to keep that transparency in apps that don't understand WebP.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Typical uses

  • Logos and brand assets downloaded from a website, to use in PowerPoint, Word or Canva.
  • Stickers and emoji-style graphics that need a transparent background.
  • Icons for apps and design tools that don’t import WebP.

Why websites use WebP for graphics

WebP supports both transparency and compression, so a transparent logo can be much smaller as WebP than as PNG. That’s great for page speed but awkward for tools that only know PNG.

Animated WebP

Animated WebP files are converted using their first frame only. The result is a still PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Will the transparent background be kept?

Yes. PNG supports transparency, so transparent areas in the WebP stay transparent.

Why not convert to JPG?

JPG has no transparency, so the background would turn white. Choose PNG for logos and cut-outs; choose JPG for ordinary photos.

Is quality lost?

No further loss. PNG is lossless, so the image looks exactly like the decoded WebP.
