Stamp size photo sheet (20 × 25 mm)

Stamp size photos are smaller than passport size, usually 20 × 25 mm (2 × 2.5 cm). A single 4 × 6 in print of this sheet gives you 20 of them, ready to paste on forms that have a small photo box.

Stamp size or passport size?

Look at the box printed on the form. A box of about 2 × 2.5 cm wants a stamp size photo; one of about 3.5 × 4.5 cm wants passport size. Pasting a bigger photo and trimming it often cuts off part of the face, so make the right size from the start. For passport size copies, switch the photo size to 35 × 45 mm or open the passport photo print sheet.

Keep the face large enough

At 20 × 25 mm the face is small, so crop your original photo closer before adding it: from just above the hair to the top of the shoulders. The sheet crops evenly from the centre, and a tightly framed original keeps the face clear and recognisable when printed this small.

Frequently asked questions

What is the size of a stamp size photo?

In India it is usually 20 × 25 mm (2 × 2.5 cm), a little under half the height of a 35 × 45 mm passport photo. If your form's photo box is a different size, measure it and choose "Other size".

Where are stamp size photos used?

School and college admission forms, hall tickets and attendance sheets at some exams, bank account forms, library and ID cards, and many government application forms with a small box marked "affix photo".

How many fit on one sheet?

Twenty on a 4 × 6 in print (four across, five down) and ninety on an A4 page. The sheet leaves a small gap around each one so you can cut them apart neatly.
